Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?

Laser hair removal, or laser treatment , is a popular procedure offered here at eSkin and is performed to remove unwanted facial and body hair. It is popular for men and women, especially for the treatment of hirsutism (excessive hair growth due to endocrine disorders). The main advantage of receiving laser treatment is its long-lasting effect.

Laser hair removal is the most effective means of getting rid of unwanted hair and has shown to permanently remove hair by 90%.

We all have hair follicles that have not yet produced hair and can start to do so at any time. Hair also has different stages of growth so often a course of treatment is recommended. For greater efficiency, laser treatment is carried out during the period of active hair growth. The intervals between sessions are 4-6 weeks for face and 6-8 weeks for body at the initial stage and in the future, at the discretion of the laser hair removal specialist, the intervals can be increased.

Although laser hair removal effectively delays hair growth for long periods of time, it usually doesn't result in a truly permanent hair removal. Multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed for initial hair removal and maintenance treatments might be needed as well. Laser hair removal can be successfully used on all skin types.

Of course, we should not forget about the body's natural ability to regenerate. This means that after a few months to a year, individual hairs may reappear due to hormonal changes, periods of menopause, puberty or pregnancy. To maintain the smoothness of the skin, we recommend a maintenance session 1-2 times a year. Even in this case, going through one laser hair removal procedure once every six months will be more profitable than sugaring, waxing, or shaving every one or two weeks.
